Good and not so good.
This material is NOTHING like the photo shows. Much of the rough is shattered and unusable for cutting or polishing. However about 50% of the lot by weigh is in acceptable condition for finishing and about 25% of the material is of absolute premium quality and the best I''ve ever seen on the market. There was some spectrolite grade material in this lot. For a skilled lapper this is an excellent buy. I plan on a larger order next time. Madagascar Minerals Response: In the photos the rough is dampened by water,and EACH PIECE is angled for the best view. If we photographed the rough as it lays, no flash would be shown in the photo. The rough we photographed is as you will recieve. There is a range in each quality. If you require jewelery facet grade, then you need to order even better grades cobbed out of this rough in smaller sizes for cabochons or cut stones.
